Veloria, as area champion, received a plaque and P10,000 cash. Her school and coach both received P2,000.
Arsenia Torres, regional vice president of PhilHealth from Region 2, said the activity aims to measure the students' knowledge on the national health insurance program (NHIP).
"We thought of making the students as active advocates of the national health insurance program as most of them are dependents of their parents," Torres said during the area elimination.
Joseph Manuel, information officer of PhilHealth in the Ilocos said, the national championship is set on February 2020 as one of the activities for the 25th anniversary of the government health insurance corporation.
At stake for the national championship is P100,000. The coach of the winner will receive P30,000 while the school will receive a computer package.(JCR/JND/VHS/PIA-1)
