BERLIN, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were off to a shaky start on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index losing 65.17 points, or 0.49 percent, opening at 13,270.51 points.
The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was consumer goods company Henkel, increasing by 0.82 percent, followed by housing company Vonovia with 0.60 percent and pharmaceutical company Merck with 0.15 percent.
Shares of Volkswagen fell by 1.75 percent. The German carmaker was the biggest loser at the start of trading Monday.
On Monday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office is scheduled to announce preliminary estimates of the inflation rate for November. In October, the inflation rate stood at minus 0.2 percent, negative for the third time in 2020 and the lowest inflation rate since January 2015.
The yield on German ten-year bonds went down 0.001 percentage points to minus 0.586 percent, and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.1965 U.S. dollars, increasing by 0.01 percent on Monday morning.
