Hong Kong stocks end higher

Hong Kong stocks finished in positive territory Wednesday, capping a hefty three-day run of losses, with attention now on the release of key US inflation data later in the day.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.78%, or 217.23 points, to 28 231.04.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.61%, or 20.91 points, to 3 462.75, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange gained 0.88%, or 19.85 points, to 2 271.81.
