Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], July 1 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel underscored the importance of ensuring strict compliance with the instructions issued during district-level 'SWAGAT' sessions to facilitate the timely and effective resolution of citizens' grievances through this technology-driven platform, an official statement from the CMO said.
He emphasised the need to establish a system that allows citizens to address smaller grievances without having to approach the state-level 'SWAGAT.'
During the state-level 'SWAGAT' for June, the Chief Minister issued necessary instructions to the concerned departments, district collectors, municipal commissioners, police superintendents, and officers to resolve the issues presented to him.
The representations were received regarding the Rajkot and Ahmedabad municipal corporations, police administration, construction of roads by gram panchayats, land revenue matters, change of land use, and more.
The Chief Minister patiently listened to these applicants and took a positive approach, also issuing strict instructions for prompt action in cases related to municipal corporations and the police department.
Despite the implementation of the irrigation scheme, a longstanding issue was affecting some farmer account holders due to the continued mention of Section 4 in the primary notifications in their 7/12 records. The Chief Minister made a sensitive decision during 'SWAGAT' to remove this entry and resolve the problem.
He also provided clear instructions for strict action in cases of commercial activities being conducted in residential societies, measurement issues related to farmers' land, the removal of encroachments on roads, and environmental protection, urging the district administration to act strictly while maintaining a citizen-friendly approach.
In the June edition of 'SWAGAT' held online at the village, taluka, district, and state levels, a total of 3349 representations were received, of which 50 per cent, approximately 1757, were resolved.
In the June 2025 state-level 'SWAGAT', a total of 98 applicants from across the state were present.
Among them, 12 applicants were personally heard by the Chief Minister. For the remaining 86 applicants present at the state-level 'SWAGAT', officers from the Chief Minister's Public Relations Office listened to their applications and issued necessary instructions to the respective district collectors, district development officers, police superintendents, and concerned departments for appropriate action and forwarded them to the concerned authorities.
At this state-level 'SWAGAT' program, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Avantika Singh, Secretary, Dr. Vikrant Pandey, Officers on Special Duty Shri Dheeraj Parekh and Shri Rakesh Vyas, along with secretaries and officers of concerned departments, were present in person or connected via video conference with district and city administrations.
