SEOUL, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's real wage, adjusted for inflation, rebounded in August amid lower inflation pressure, labor ministry data showed Thursday.
The per-capita nominal monthly average wage in businesses with one or more regular employees gained 1.7 percent over the year to 3,937,000 won (2,760 U.S. dollars) in August, according to the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The real monthly wage rose 0.1 percent in August on a yearly basis after sliding 3.1 percent in the previous month.
The consumer price inflation hovered around the central bank's inflation target of 2 percent in recent months, with 2.2 percent in June, 2.1 percent in July and 1.7 percent in August.
The monthly average working hours per employee in the businesses declined 3.3 percent to 150.5 hours in August compared to the same month of last year.
The water, sewage and waste disposal industry recorded the longest monthly working hours of 168.2, trailed by the real estate industry with 163.1 hours.
The construction industry logged the shortest working hours of 126.1 in the cited month.
