BISHKEK, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product (GDP) in the construction sector has surged over the past six years, Adylbek Kasymaliev, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, announced on Wednesday.
He made the statement during a board meeting of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services.
According to him, the construction industry is demonstrating steady growth and remains one of the key drivers of the country's economy.
"In 2025, GDP in the construction sector amounted to 438.5 billion Kyrgyz soms (about 5 billion U.S. dollars), compared to 58.5 billion soms in 2019," Kasymaliev stated.
According to data from the country's Cabinet of Ministers, since 2021, the state has invested more than 170 billion soms in the construction sector, enabling it to reach record levels and complete the construction of 936 social facilities.
